Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
MARIE HOUSE – Residential & Respite
At Marie House, we recognise that everyone is uniquely individual. Our support is tailored around each person’s needs, offering bespoke care packages designed to promote independence, dignity, and fulfilment. We also provide crisis and emergency support, whether someone requires short-notice accommodation or urgent support within their own home.
Our services are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission, ensuring we meet national standards for safety, quality, and person-centred care.
We support individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, complex health needs, and behaviours that may challenge, helping them to live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

Our Facilities
Marie House offers five fully accessible bedrooms, available for both residential and respite stays. Each room includes a private ensuite or wet room, ensuring comfort, privacy, and accessibility.
The ground floor comprises a large open-plan kitchen and communal living area, designed to encourage social interaction and shared experiences. There is also a bright and relaxing garden room, along with access to a secure outdoor space where individuals can enjoy fresh air and sensory experiences in a safe environment.
Our home is designed to be welcoming, safe, and adaptable to meet a wide range of physical and sensory needs, providing reassurance to both individuals and their families.

Activities & Meaningful Engagement
We provide a range of person-centred activities, tailored to each individual’s interests, goals, and abilities. These include:
-
Arts and crafts
-
Cooking and baking
-
Gardening and outdoor activities
-
Sensory sessions
-
Community outings and social opportunities
-
Life skills development
-
Access to work or day opportunities where appropriate
Respite breaks not only provide specialist care in a warm and friendly environment, but also give individuals the chance to try new experiences, build confidence, and develop relationships.
We understand how important it is for families to feel confident that their loved one is in safe hands. That is why we maintain a small, consistent core staff team, ensuring continuity of care and familiarity with each person’s preferences, routines, and communication styles.

Our Staff Team & Specialist Support
Our dedicated team is trained to deliver specialist, personalised care for individuals with complex health needs and behaviours that may challenge. We adopt a positive behaviour support approach, focusing on understanding the reasons behind behaviours, reducing triggers, promoting emotional wellbeing, and maintaining dignity at all times.
We work closely with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure each individual has a comprehensive Personal Support Plan, including:
-
Health Action Plans
-
Risk assessments
-
Behaviour support strategies
-
Regular reviews with health and social care professionals
We passionately believe that effective support around health and personal care creates the foundation for a good quality of life. When health needs are well managed, individuals have more opportunities to be ambitious — developing relationships, engaging in their community, accessing employment or day services, and exploring their full potential.
At Marie House, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where the possibilities are endless.
